Two billion people don't have access to a bank account. These so-called "unbanked" are worth 380 billion dollars combined. Why don't the banks accept them as customers? It is too expensive for the traditional banking system to provide banking services for these 30% of the world population. The traditional banking system contains numerous middlemen, unnecessarily complicated processes, their terms are rigid and their policies non-transparent.
